MUARA, Monday, 3 February 2020 - The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) received a visit from Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi NI (M), Chief of Naval Staff, Pakistan Navy to Muara Naval Base as part of his official visit to Brunei Darussalam from 2nd February 2020 until 5th February 2020.

Upon arrival to the RBN Headquarters, the Chief of Naval Staff of Pakistan Navy was received by First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily,   Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, followed by his inspection of the Half Guard that was mounted by RBN personnel.

Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi NI (M) then proceeded with a bilateral discussion with the Commander of Royal Brunei Navy. During the discussion, both sides affirmed the excellent relationship between the two Navies and discussed prospective areas of future engagement. Both navies aim to establish the bilateral naval exercise in the near future. The visit to Royal Brunei Navy concluded with a ship tour onboard KDB DARUSSALAM, one of Royal Brunei Navy's DARUSSALAM class patrol vessel, and was received by Commander Md Azrin bin Haji Mahmud, Commanding Officer of KDB DARUSSALAM.

 During his visit, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi NI (M) had courtesy calls with Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Acting Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces and a visit to the RBAF Musem. He also had the opportunity to meet Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Khairul Hamed bin Awang Haji Lampoh, Commander of Royal Brunei Land Force, for bilateral discussions.

 Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi NI (M) was appointed Chief of Naval Staff, Pakistan Navy on October 2017.
