COURTESY CALL BY NON-RESIDENT NEW ZEALAND DEFENCE ADVISER ACCREDITED TO BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

MUARA, Thursday, 9 January 2020 - The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, received a courtesy call at the Royal Brunei Navy Headquarters from Captain Rodger Ward, Defence Adviser accredited to Brunei Darussalam.

During the call, both sides affirmed the cordial relations between the two countries and the various engagements between the two navies in defence sectors. The relationship between the two navies have developed through multilateral collaboration and platforms such as the Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS), ASEAN Defence Minister's Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus). Both sides have also expressed satisfaction on the bilateral ties between Brunei and New Zealand, where both countries have continue to share friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in May 1984.

Captain Rodger Ward was appointed New Zealand's Defence Adviser accredited to Brunei Darussalam since January 2018 last year.
