FAREWELL CALL BY THE DEFENCE ATTACHÉ OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

MUARA, Monday, 6 January 2020 - The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily, received a farewell call at the Royal Brunei Navy Headquarters from Senior Colonel Wu Geng, the People's Republic of China Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam.

During the farewell call, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the existing bilateral defence ties between Royal Brunei Navy and People's Liberation Army - Navy (PLA-N) that have flourished since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and People's Republic of China (PRC) since 30 September 1991. The bilateral defence ties between RBN and PLA-N have strengthened through professional exchanges, port visits, interactions in multilateral events and conferences. The Commander of RBN also expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the hospitality accorded to RBN during the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China held in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province in 2019.

Senior Colonel Wu Geng has held the appointment of PRC's Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam since 6 August 2016 and will be succeeded by Senior Colonel Li Jianzhong.
