MUARA, Wednesday, 4 December 2019 -
The closing ceremony and final assessment of the Basic Cook and Steward Course 2019 was held at Nakhoda Hall, Naval Training Centre (NTC). Present as the Guest of Honor was Commander Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, RBN, Chief of Staff. Also in attendance were RBN officers, personnels and the course instructors.
In his remarks, the Guest of Honour highlighted the learning value and skills acquired by the participants through the course. Whilst it is important for them to apply the 'hard' and practical skills such as the techniques and methods in food preparation and stewardship, it is also imperative that course participants retain the 'soft skills' required in their vocation. He also distinguished their vocation from their peers and counterparts, but emphasized on the equal importance of their roles and responsibilities in the organization.
Prior to the closing ceremony, a final assessment was held where guests were given the opportunity to sample and assess the dishes prepared by the course participants.
A total of 14 participants attended the course, 9 from Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), 2 from Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and 3 from Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF).
