MUARA, Wednesday 29th May 2019 – Ambassador of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Motohiko Kato made a courtesy call to The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili@Suhaily.
During the call, His Excellency took the opportunity to talk about the incoming ships visiting this June 2019 by JS IZUMO, JS AKEBONO and JS MURASAME. He also expressed his pleasure for the continued warm and friendly relations between the two countries and hopes that both countries will have common interests in enhancing their relationship even further, especially in the areas of defence.
Following upon the call, His Excellency is looking forward to seeing more engagement between RBN and Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF). The last ship visit by JMSDF was in February 2018 by JS SAWAGIRI, JS YAMAGIRI and JS YAMAYUKI.
